On the 25th of October, 2015 the first elections were held in 159 joint communities, which voluntarily joined nearly 800 local governments and about 2 000 settlements with a total population of 1 400 thousand people.<\/p>\n
Most communities were created in Ternopil and Khmelnitsky region \u2013 26 and 22 respectively. Still none has been created in the Kharkiv region.<\/p>\n
More than half of the joint communities were formed around villages \u2013 92 (58%), almost a third \u2013 around settlements (townships) \u2013 46 (29%). Around the cities of a regional value 20 joint communities (13%) were formed. One more community was created on the basis of cities of a regional significance \u2013 Krasny Liman (Donetsk region), which did not have the authority of local government before.<\/p>\n
Results of operations and management of joint communities, changes that soon will take place, will become a kind of \u00abtest\u00bb of the effectiveness and correctness of reforms chosen by the current Government. That is why so much attention is taken to the heads of the joint communities (hereinafter heads) that were formed voluntarily.<\/p>\n
On the 13th of October, 2015 the Central election Commission officially announced results of the election of heads in 158 out of 159 communities. Still there is no only official result of the election of the Head of the Sokyriany city joint community (Chernivtsi region, Sokyriany district). So now it is possible to summarize and talk about certain patterns.<\/p>\n
